Sunny day

I've seen the facebook photos of Californians that have left the sunny state and ventured out to other places in the USA and now have to shovel their cars out of snow. Much of the US may be covered in snow, but just in case they are wondering, yes it is still another gorgeous sunny day in Cal-i-for-ni-a. Yay! And yes, sales tax is almost 10%. Boo. But thank you God for desserts and beaches.

This past weekend we finally made it down to socal for Jbear's sister's birthday. It was my first trip with his family and I was terribly nervous about the whole thing and tried to weasel my way out of the thing... a few times. I get motion sick and 6 hours on anything moving did not sound like a good idea. I thought I was out of vacation hours. I thought I was starting class last Saturday not this upcoming Saturday. I never found the gift for her and gifts is totally my love language and that is not acceptable. I have so much studying to do. But somehow everything fell into place...for the most part. Jbear's mom rented a new, spacious van. I stuffed my backpack with dresses and my study material because I'm trying to be a nerd again but no gift. Jbear drove and I sat up front sleeping for much of the ride. I am so thankful he offfers to drive without asking me. All in all, I had a great time.

Since the weekend was all for her and what she wanted to do, and she's a total foodie, what we did was eat... a lot. No complaints here. (Except the 5 lbs I gained in 2 days!?!) Things I discovered- pastrami is delicious when hot (and with melted guyere), kyochun is dare I say even more delicious than bonchon, caramel kettle corn exists in downtown disney (gogo! Its AH-mazing), lil B is super easy to travel with these days (old enough to keep himself busy and listen to intructions without getting upset but still young enough to say the cutest things) and my dream home is sitting by huntington beach.
