The saddest thing

Oddly restless, despite being tired, I am browsing old photos to delete and clear up space on my computer. Before I delete these, I figure I should at least share the sadness in my backyard. These photos were taken in 2008 at a Caltrain stop that I haven't been back to since.

There was metal netting strung across the underside of the freeway that many Caltrain riders sit under while waiting for their train. Most people might not look up, but I couldn't help being slightly horrified at the sight. Lively, flapping pigeons perching amongst the corpses of fellow former pigeons trapped in the wiring.

I assume the original intention of the net is to prevent pigeons from perching and pooping in the space (aka less cleanup). Unfortunately, it neither completely successfully prevents pigeons from perching and there is loss of pigeon life.

I'm not sure if anything has changed.
