I forget how tough being a student is... a good student.
The I'm bringing my books on vacation and looking at flashcards instead of talking to you -type.

It's only week 2 of this class I've been wanting to take for forever, and you'd think I'd be bursting with motivation, but no. I'm tired. And dare I say... slow? Did school always move this fast? I forget (it's been THAT long). Am I officially "old" now?

Post-college I've mostly been taking professional development classes. Courses very specific to certain jobs. Once a week, I sit in a room filled with middle-aged people in career clothing taking night courses after a full day of work. A classroom of people focused on their jobs, hand out business cards left and right, are still shaky on powerpoint and are late to class when they need to pick up their teenage kids from lacrosse practice. It's different. Things tend to move slower... Concepts tend to seem simpler.

But the type of class I spent 17.5 years of life taking, I'm not so used to anymore. Everyone comes in wearing sweatshirts lugging backpacks, atleast one hand attached to their cell phone and seem so young (even if they aren't) and energetic (even if they aren't). It's definitely a different vibe.

And class is twice a week from 5:20-10pm. I'm allowed to gripe just a bit right? That's longer than those 3 hour finals I despised sitting through! I spend half the time wondering what have I gotten myself into? and the other half in love with each new discovery.

Those full-time working, full-time parent, part/full-time parents?

I totally respect.

Okay, my 15 minutes of griping are over. I have a date with some lonely textbooks.

Since lent is over and I allowed myself to start signing up for email newsletters again, I'm getting promotions up the wazoo. Last night I went to Walgreens to pick up some expo washable markers and the cashier was shocked that all the coupons and promos could be stacked. His eyes were like O_O and he called me a super saver. I don't see the point in paying full price for most things if you can stock up when it's on sale so figured I'd share some things going on right now.

Turns out 20% off site wide is a pretty common occurrence here. I like their cushy ankle socks and guys always need underwear and undershirts. Walmart tends to have undershirts for pretty cheap ~$8. So if you don't plan on stocking up on a lot and don't qualify for FS, this might not be worth it.

School is starting up soon and that means Back to School Sales!
I don't really need crayons or markers (although I saw a lot of really great deals) so I stocked up on pens. Pens tend to disappear out of my purse. Sitting in class or service with an open notebook, brain brimming with things you want to remember, but no pen is a painful experience. Stock up!

Lots of pens on sale. I found a lot of Avery label sheets in the back clearance bin for $3. That's a good deal since the removable ones were originally $13. 3M and Post-it has a $10 rebate off $20 (not through OD) which is great because there are a couple of B1G1 free items. Too bad they are all out of stock around here. If you want something less than $25, fill your purchase with their free-after-rebate items. Including Purell hand sanitizer ($5.99), Nano stapler, and expo pens. Note: Max of five mail-in savings per household and all qualified items must be on one receipt. So you can't go on two different trips and to try to milk it.
